I really enjoyed my class at Jiva Yoga Center on Hilton Head. It was a Slow Flow Deep Stretch class, which is exactly what I needed after running a half marathon the day before. The class was heated, and the slow flow part was challenging, and sweat did in fact happen. But the deep stretch part was fantastic. At the end, before savasana, they come and give you a lavender towel. I love this practice in hot studios!
The studio was pretty packed with all types, ages, sizes. That’s my favorite kind of yoga community: everyone.
They have a nice sized boutique packed with some pretty cool stuff. I love when studios have a lot of their own branded items, and Jive Yoga Center had some super cool Jiva branded shirts. It was really hard to choose just one. I chatted with the owner, Jean Rioux (pictured below), and she was very kind, very patient; a vibrant, lovely woman. She answered all my questions, went out of her way to find a shirt I was looking for, and never made me feel rushed, even though I was clearly the last person in the space. She even gifted me these amazing mugs!!! See the photo below They are heavy and feel lovely in your hand and I adore the colors. Thank you, Jean!
They also have a SUP company, which I thought was so awesome. Soul Sup Hilton Head has SUP lessons, paddle board rentals, a retail section in the studio (you can see it in the back room of the photo below) where they sell boards, accessories, etc. and of course they offer SUP yoga, a nice combo of the SUP company and the yoga studio.
I’ll definitely be back to try some Jiva classes, check out some more of the teachers, and buy that other shirt I was eyeing. I’ll update this post then!
